On Wednesday, April 7,<\/strong> 2021<\/strong>, the College of Engineering at Alfaisal University held its 2nd<\/sup> \u00a0Boeing Engineering Student Competition<\/em>. The event showcased graduate and undergraduates\u2019 projects under a generic engineering innovation theme.<\/p>\n

In this Competition, 94 students, majoring in every engineering discipline offered by the College of Engineering, demonstrating 36 undergraduate projects and 8 graduate-level projects, some of which will hopefully go on to be commercial products.<\/p>\n

Boeing Saudi Arabia thankfully sponsored the event. The Boeing Saudi Arabia representative, Eng. Anees Abdullah \u2013 Strategy & Business Operations Integration participated in the competition judging process.<\/p>\n

The Competition featured work from undergraduate students where the students presented their work to an audience made up of fellow students and professors and Boeing representative Eng. Anees Abdullah. The Competition had seven tracks. Each track represented an engineering discipline or program, namely, Architectural Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering and Master of Engineering & Systems Management, and an additional Multidisciplinary track.<\/p>\n

On April 8, 2021,<\/strong> the Awards Ceremony was attended by the President of Alfaisal University, Prof. Mohammed Alhayaza, HRH Dr. Maha bint Mishari Al Saud, \u00a0Vice President of External Relations and Advancement at Alfaisal University, Eng. Anees Abdullah, Strategy & Business Operations Integration, Boeing, the Acting Dean of Engineering at Alfaisal University, Dr. Muhammad Anan, and CoE faculty and students.\u00a0 They congratulated and handed the awards to the winning teams.<\/p>\n

At the end of the ceremony, the office of research, innovation, and commercialization recognized the Alfaisal Boeing Solar Car Team, Led by Dr. Ahmed Oteafy, to produce Areej-1, the first solar version of the solar-powered car.<\/p>\n

The Acting Dean of Engineering at Alfaisal University, Dr. Muhammad Anan, expressed his deep appreciation and sincere gratitude to Boeing, faculties, students, the organizing team led by Dr. Zuruzi AbuSamah, the Facility, IT, and MC departments Alfaisal\u2019s leadership for their unlimited support.<\/p>\n
