Alfaisal Model Mania\u00ae is a local Engineering Design Challenge oriented mainly to Engineering students in Alfaisal University on the 10th\u00a0 &amp; 11th of November 2021. The origin of the challenge is the global Model Mania\u00ae design challenge; SolidWorks has been holding it annually over the past 22 years. The Scopes of the contest are Accuracy and Speed 3D Modeling using SolidWorks from a given 2D drawing.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3832\" src=\"https:\/\/news.alfaisal.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/008.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1242\" height=\"810\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fifteen students<\/strong> participated from <strong>4 engineering majors<\/strong>, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering. The challenge kicked off on Wednesday 10<sup>th<\/sup> of November, in the advanced technology lab. The participating students modeled the part in a duration ranging between 7mins to more than one hour and with an inaccuracy error of -30% to +20%. The results were filtered with an acceptable accuracy variation of \u00b11% and 100% size accuracy, then ranked according to speed.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3830\" src=\"https:\/\/news.alfaisal.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/003-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1716\" height=\"1144\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>first winner<\/strong> of 4,000 SAR is <strong>Latifa Alhgbani<\/strong>, duration: 7 mins 9 seconds and an accuracy error: -0.31%.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3837\" src=\"https:\/\/news.alfaisal.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/004-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1369\" height=\"912\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>second winner<\/strong> of 2,500 SAR is <strong>Doha Melliti<\/strong>, duration: 7 mins 59 seconds and accuracy error: -0.30%.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3835\" src=\"https:\/\/news.alfaisal.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/005-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1160\" height=\"773\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>third winner<\/strong> of 1,500 SAR is <strong>Abeer Shiraz Khan<\/strong>, duration: 9 mins 23 seconds and an accuracy error: -0.30%.<\/p>\n<p>The winners were awarded in a ceremony attended by<strong> Dr. Muhammad Anan<\/strong>, College of Engineering Dean, <strong>Dr. Zuruzi AbuSamah<\/strong>, Mechanical Engineering Department Chair<strong>, Dr. Abd-Elhamid M. Taha<\/strong>, Director of Innovation and Research<strong>, Ms. Nouf Alammar<\/strong>, Student Accelerator Supervisor. In addition, <strong>Mr. Mark Schneider, the global Model Mania<\/strong><strong>\u00ae organizer,<\/strong> attended the ceremony too.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3836\" src=\"https:\/\/news.alfaisal.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/006.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1176\" height=\"784\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Alfaisal Model Mania\u00ae 2021 was organized by <strong>Eng. Aliaa Maar<\/strong>, Mechanical Engineering instructor as a part of the Computer-Aided Design class. Eng. Aliaa is proud that two of the winner are current CAD students! In addition, Maar expressed that the challenge should be a constant annual challenge to motivate the students to develop their modeling skills.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3834\" src=\"https:\/\/news.alfaisal.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/007.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1453\" height=\"969\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Special thanks and appreciation for the help and support to <strong>Eng.
