Held from May 1\u20133, 2025, at King Faisal Specialist Hospital &amp; Research Centre (KFSHRC), the conference convened educators, researchers, and learners to explore transformative directions in health professions education.<\/p>\n<p>Alfaisal\u2019s participation, led by the Department of Medical Education (MED), reflected a strategic, multidimensional engagement. The university contributed across several domains through faculty-led workshops, keynote addresses, and scholarly presentations. The major highlight of this year\u2019s conference, however, was the exceptional leadership demonstrated by Alfaisal University students, who played a central role in the academic program by designing and delivering peer-led workshops as part of the MED\u2019s innovative \u201cStudents As Educators\u201d initiative. This pioneering program empowers students to design and facilitate high-quality, peer-targeted learning experiences, positioning them as co-creators of knowledge and contributors to institutional development.<\/p>\n<p>Student-led workshops that reflected Alfaisal\u2019s commitment to educational leadership, social accountability, and global readiness included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cHow Can Medical Students Make Their School More Socially Accountable?\u201dled by Mohammed Seifuldin (3rd year) and Yasir Jassim (4th year)<\/li>\n<li>\u201cPeer-Based Basic Surgical Skills\u201d, Facilitated by Abdulrahman Alnwiji (5th year), Kenan Alaa Badran (4th year), and Khalid Alnajjar (4th year)<\/li>\n<li>\u201cGlobal Pathways: Navigating the International Medical Residency Journey\u201d Presented by Ghaith Adi (5th year).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cOur participation in ICME 2025 reflects the core philosophy of our department\u2014empowering both faculty and students to drive meaningful change in medical education,\u201d said Dr. Hassan Sami Shaibah, Chairman of the Department of Medical Education.<br \/>\n\u201cI am proud of the exceptional contributions made by our community across all levels.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Faculty contributions were intentionally designed around Alfaisal\u2019s C.A.R.E. framework, which emphasizes four pillars of educational advancement: Curriculum Innovation, Assessment Science, Research Capacity Building, and Engaged Interprofessionalism. This structure ensures a well-rounded and high-impact academic presence throughout the conference.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Curriculum Innovation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keynote by Professor Sabri Kemahli<br \/>\n\u201cShaping Health Education Curricula for the Future: Preparing Students for the New Technological Era\u201d<br \/>\nThis keynote examined how emerging technologies and evolving healthcare needs demand reimagined curricula that promote adaptability, integration, and lifelong learning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Assessment Science<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keynote by Dr. Nasr Aldeen Ahmed<br \/>\n\u201cTest Reliability and Validity &amp; Item Analysis\u201d<br \/>\nDr. Nasr\u2019s address unpacked the fundamentals of psychometric evaluation and test construction in health education.<\/li>\n<li>Workshops by Dr. Nasr Aldeen Ahmed\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cEssentials of Assessment and Blueprinting as Guides for Assessment\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cWriting High-Quality MCQ Items\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These sessions provided educators with practical tools for developing fair, objective, and aligned evaluations. \u201cThere is growing recognition that assessment is not just about testing knowledge\u2014it\u2019s about shaping learning,\u201d said Dr. Nasr Aldeen Ahmed. \u201cWhen done right, assessments become tools for reflection, progress, and transformation in health professions education.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Research Capacity Building<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Workshop by Dr. Ahmed Abu-Zaid<br \/>\n\u201cSystematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses: A Practical Approach\u201d<br \/>\nA hands-on session guiding participants through the end-to-end process of conducting and publishing systematic reviews and meta-analyses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Engaged Interprofessionalism<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Workshop by Dr. Raed Albar and Dr. Ayman Mohamed:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cConstructive Conflict Engagement in Interprofessional Collaborative Practice\u201d<br \/>\nExplored conflict resolution strategies rooted in emotional intelligence, shared leadership, and collaborative decision-making.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Workshop: \u201cInnovating Medical Education: Designing Multi-Disciplinary Simulation Scenarios\u201d<br \/>\nFacilitated by Dr. Cynthia Joan Mosher, Dr. Huseyin Cahit Taskiran, Dr. Sadek Obeidat, Dr. Sara Maaz, and Ms. Summer Alhamdani, this session helped educators design integrated simulations that mirror the interdisciplinary nature of clinical practice. \u201cWe are thankful for the opportunity to present our workshop at the ICME event,\u201d said Dr. Cynthia Mosher. \u201cWe were pleased to have a highly engaged group of participants in our workshop.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Alfaisal University\u2019s broad engagement at ICME 2025 showcased a holistic vision for medical education\u2014combining student-driven innovation, evidence-informed faculty development, and strong institutional leadership.
