This initiative focuses on responsible electronic waste management and the promotion of sustainable practices within the university community.<\/p>\n<p>A <strong>permanent e-waste collection container<\/strong> was installed on campus to facilitate the safe and continuous recycling of electronic waste. While Alfaisal University has previously collaborated with Ertiqa on similar initiatives, this permanent installation represents a long-term commitment to creating a lasting, positive impact on both the environment and society.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative aims to <strong>raise awareness about the health and environmental risks of electronic waste<\/strong>, while <strong>encouraging individuals and organizations to donate used electronic devices<\/strong>. Through the <strong>\u201cSustainable Impact\u201d<\/strong> campaign, the university seeks to collect used and damaged electronic devices, recycle them responsibly, or refurbish them for safe reuse, <strong>enhancing community awareness and collective responsibility<\/strong> towards environmental preservation.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6683 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/news.alfaisal.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/5001046.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"975\" height=\"650\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>About MWAN<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>National Center for Waste Management (MWAN)<\/strong> is the regulatory body responsible for overseeing and developing the waste management sector in Saudi Arabia. MWAN aims to achieve the goals of <strong>Saudi Vision 2030<\/strong> by promoting sustainable waste management practices, enhancing recycling rates, and reducing landfill dependency. Through strategic partnerships and awareness initiatives, MWAN works to protect the environment, ensure public health, and advance the Kingdom\u2019s transition toward a circular economy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Ertiqa<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ertiqa<\/strong>, a charitable and educational initiative by <strong>Al-Fawzan<\/strong>, is dedicated to promoting the preservation and responsible use of digital resources. The organization refurbishes used computers and donates them to social and educational institutions, thereby extending the lifespan of digital devices and reducing environmental waste.
