The Alfaisal College of Medicine recently held its esteemed “Outstanding Mentor Award Ceremony” on May 7th, honouring the remarkable faculty and peer mentors who have made significant contributions to the lives of medical students.
This year’s honorees include Dr. Rana Mostafa Abdo (Most Supportive Mentor), Dr. Olena Bolgova (Most Patient Mentor), Dr. Muhammad Raihan Sajid (Most Positive Mentor), Dr. Fatheia Nabeil Hamza (Most Caring Mentor), and Dr. Abdul Jabar Rasool (Most Motivating Mentor). The Most Popular Mentor award resulted in a tie between Dr. Aymen Mohamed Awad Mohamed, Dr. Abdul Rehman Zaidi, and Dr. Osama Ezzeldin Abdelhadi. In addition, Dr. Raed Al Bar was the recipient of the inaugural Mentorship Excellence Award.
The College also acknowledged exceptional peer mentors, with Payam Amin Saydo winning Most Popular, Shanjida Nahar Sijana winning Most Supportive, and Rushdan Mohamed Firdous winning Most Influential.
The awards underscore the reciprocal nature of mentorship, recognizing not only the guiding role of mentors but also the commitment of students who actively engage in their learning journeys. Ghedaa Armosh, who displayed remarkable dedication and improvement throughout her mentorship journey, was awarded the Mentee of the Year.
