This Ramadan, a team of Alfaisal University students completed their final “Toy Drive” campaign for orphans under the ‘Insaan Foundation’. The Campaign which was launched in May this year was a follow on from the successful, Orphan Fun Day Event- ‘Make Em Smile’ which was held on the University Campus and provided some 40 orphans with a fun filled day that made them smile.
The Toy Drive collected over 200 toys which were donated by students, staff and faculty. The toys were donated over two separate events, with the final one in the month of Ramadan; a month in which charity is encouraged.
Provost; Dr. Faisal Al Mubarak commented on the students initiative, the staff and faculty support and on how committed the University community is on such community initiatives. Saphia Ikram Spokesperson for Alfaisal stated, “We recognize our students’ efforts and those for their contributions and thoughtfulness during the month of Ramadan. The Alfaisal community will continue to support community initiatives and looks at supporting joint collaborative outreach projects with individuals and organizations to help make the world a better place”.
