The NCAAA is an ETEC affiliate that is responsible for quality assurance and accreditation in higher education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is currently working on accrediting medical programs in the Kingdom to align with the announcement of the US Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), which states that starting in 2024, individuals applying for ECFMG Certification must be students or graduates of a medical school that is appropriately accredited by an accrediting agency that is officially recognized by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME).
Currently, the WFME Recognition Program is the only program accepted by ECFMG for the recognition of medical school accrediting agencies.
