A Professor in the College of Engineering at Alfaisal University, Dr Rehan Ahmed, has received the Best Paper Award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Journal of Tribology.
The award was announced at the recent STLE-ASME International Joint Tribology Conference (2010) in San Francisco, USA for the journal paper “H. Yu, R. Ahmed, H. de Villiers Lovelock, S. Davies, Influence of Manufacturing Process and Alloying Element Content on the Tribomechanical Properties of Cobalt-Based Alloys, ASME Journal of Tribology, 131(1), 2009.”
Dr Rehan Ahmed explained “this paper which reported the findings of an industrially funded research project highlights the mechanisms involved in structure-property relationships of cobalt-based alloys. Additional work done as part of this research project is currently subjected to Intellectual Property (IP) rights. It is anticipated that once the IP is secured these results will be disseminated through additional research publications ……”
