College of Business invited Dr. Mohammed Alnuwairan to be part of the Executive Lecture Series. Dr. Mohammed is the CEO at National Center for Palms & Dates (NCPD).
The lecture titled “Golden Treasures of Arabia: Exploring the Nutritional Wonders of Saudi Dates” was presented to the audience and College of Business students. It took place on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, in the Lecture Theatre (M) from 12:00 to 12:50 PM.
Dr. Mohammed discussed several key aspects of the dates/palms industry, both locally and globally. He introduced the NCPD and its role in promoting and supporting the palm and dates sector in Saudi Arabia. He highlighted the sector’s rich history, cultural relevance, and the growing global demand for dates due to their health benefits.
He elaborated on the various services and initiatives spearheaded by the NCPD to enhance the sector’s sustainability and competitiveness. These initiatives include optimizing the supply chain, promoting sustainable agricultural practices, and leveraging data-driven strategies to expand market reach. He also explored the untapped opportunities in the sector, emphasizing the potential for Saudi dates to gain a more prominent position in the global market.
Dr. Mohammed also highlighted some promising opportunities in the dates industry. It includes conducting studies aimed at improving the efficiency of the entire value chain in the sector, contributing to the development of new products based on palm and dates, whether in the food industry, cosmetics, or other sectors, or establishing small businesses based on dates, whether in agriculture, manufacturing, or e-commerce.

It provides Alfaisal University students and guests from the business community the opportunity to learn from some of the country’s leading executives and leaders as they talk about their experiences.
