Alfaisal University is proud to highlight a milestone accomplishment by our Vice Dean, Dr. Baraa Alghalyini. Dr. Baraa and her team has won the Helen Batty Award for 2023 in Excellence or Innovation in Program Development and Design for their program “Advancing Women’s Excellence in Family Medicine” – A Leadership Program for Emerging Leaders.
The program impressed the diverse and interprofessional judging committee with its comprehensive design and commitment to advancing women leadership in faculty medicine. “This is a unique program in our system – it is accredited, supported by an international steering committee, and makes use of asynchronous and synchronous design to connect a diverse and engaged participant cohort of emerging women leaders”, the Committee writes, highlighting the exemplary features of the winning program. The program included various emerging leaders from all over the globe, including Canada, United Kingdom, Thailand, India, Ethiopia, Egypt, and Brazil. Dr. Baraa would like to thank her team, the Centre of Faculty Development, the Department of Family and Community Medicine, and Dr. Katherine Rouleau at the University of Toronto, and Alfaisal University for their kind support. She would also like to use this opportunity to invite future participants from Alfaisal University and Saudi Arabia to apply in the next round of submissions in Fall 2024.
