On Wed. November 8th, 2017, the Software Engineering Department held the event IBM Cloud Day. It was a 4 hour event that included live demos, hands-on labs, and information about IBM’s Academic Initiative for Cloud, and career opportunities. 25 female and 20 male engineering students took part in the work shop at Princess Haya Auditorium.
Dr Muhammad Anan, Acting Dean, College of Engineering, Alfaisal University, welcomed and addressed event guests and attendees. Eng. Alanoud AlBaiz, one of the presenters at the event, is a graduate of Alfaisal University Software Engineering Department, presently working as Academia Initiative Coordinator at IBM. Her talk presented career opportunities at IBM, and encouraged our students to apply for their internship program targeted at fresh graduates.
Eng. Abdullah Alhmzani, Developer Advocate at IBM and Eng. Mashael Almuhanna, Cloud Developer Advocate for IBM introduced our faculty and students to IBM Cloud and IBM Watson, Mobile Services and IBM Cloudant. The students had a chance to interact with the professionals, ask questions and observe the workflow. The event was inspiring to the students and highly informative.
