The College of Engineering hosted a seminar presented by Dr. Hassan M Hegab, Ph.D. in Planning & Public Policy with Specialty in Urban Economic Development.
The talk addressed the past and present urban development trends and the roles of cities in the economic development with reference to urbanization, counter-urbanization, & re-urbanization and highlighted some of the newly urban concepts such as: Smart Urbanism, Transport Oriented Developments, Green Buildings and Smart Cities. Dr. Hegab explained a proposed approach to redevelop Riyadh’s Central Business District in line with emerging global urban trends that promote startup and entrepreneurship ecosystems.
The talk was held on Tuesday, the 1st of March in the Female Theater and was attended by students and faculty members, including the Acting Dean, Nidal Nasser
