Alfaisal University recently welcomed a distinguished delegation from the University of Bristol on December 8th, 2024 marking another significant milestone in the Bristol-AU PhD program. The visit highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the two institutions to promote academic excellence and groundbreaking research.
The delegation comprised renowned scholars, including Dr. Liang Fong-Wong, Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor for Internationalisation and Associate Professor of Regenerative Medicine; Professor David Murphy, Professor of Experimental Medicine; Professor Jason Johnson, Professor of Cardiovascular Pathology; Professor James Uney, Professor of Molecular Neuroscience; Dr. Claire Perks, Associate Professor in Tumor Cell Biology; and Professor Chrissie Thirlwell, Clinical Professor and Head of the Bristol Medical School.As part of the visit, the delegation engaged in productive discussions with Alfaisal faculty and students, focusing on the joint PhD program. The program’s PhD students had the opportunity to present updates on their research projects, showcasing their progress and receiving valuable feedback from the esteemed Bristol delegation. Additionally, the visiting scholars delivered thought-provoking talks on their pioneering research, inspiring new ideas within Alfaisal’s academic community.The visit also facilitated individual meetings between supervisors and students, further strengthening mentorship and fostering academic growth.
