The Accelerated Bachelor’s and Master’s (ABM) Program proudly announces its first graduates: Nouf Farhoud and Lama Alshammari. This innovative program, a collaboration between Alfaisal University and KAUST, provides eligible, high-performing undergraduate students with the opportunity to earn both a Bachelor’s degree from Alfaisal and a Master of Science degree from KAUST within a five-year period.
The agreement to launch the program was signed in 2022, with the first batch of students admitted the following year. As the university celebrates this significant achievement, we invite new students to enroll in the next cohort of the program.
Timeline and Phases of the ABM Program:
- Declaration of Intent: AU students must declare their intention to join the ABM program by filling out the appropriate form. Eligible nominations will then be communicated to KAUST.
- Summer Internship: Accepted students from AU will undertake a summer internship at KAUST at the end of their third year (after AU’s sixth semester).
- Return to AU: Following the summer internship, students will return to AU to complete their fall semester course requirements. Their senior year capstone or research project will be jointly supervised by KAUST and AU.
- KAUST Semester: Students who successfully complete the above steps will be eligible to undertake the spring semester of their fourth year (AU’s eighth semester) at KAUST. During this period, they are expected to continue working on their capstone or research project, as well as completing KAUST courses to satisfy their AU undergraduate degree requirements.
This program exemplifies our commitment to providing students with exceptional educational pathways and opportunities for advanced learning.
