Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The Department of Pharmacy Practice at Alfaisal College of Pharmacy has unveiled a dedicated pharmacy simulation lab designed to elevate the educational experience for PharmD students. This innovative facility serves Year 3, 4, and 5 students, providing them with invaluable hands-on training in pharmacy practice.
The simulation lab includes specialized spaces for dispensing, counseling, and compounding, as well as simulated clinical tools that mimic real-world pharmacy environments. This setup is integral to the educational framework, supporting Patient Care Laboratory (PCL) sessions for Year 4 and 5 students, which run in conjunction with integrated pharmacotherapy blocks throughout the academic year.The lab not only encourages active learning but also enhances critical thinking and practical skill development, ensuring that students are thoroughly prepared for patient care. Activities conducted within the lab encompass a variety of educational experiences, including dispensing and compounding exercises, Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE), workshops, and community service programs.
