On Monday, 7th of January 2018, Alfaisal university held the ‘’1st National Autism and ADHD Research Summit’’ organized by King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSHRC).
The summit lasted for 2 days and targeted researchers and health professionals interested in the fields of Autism and ADHD, as well as families and teachers. Speakers were from different sectors (educational, research and medical), gave versatile lectures that covered many areas, from the medical key facts and representation of Autism & ADHD, the occupational & behavioural management of the problem, the involvement of drugs and medications, as well as the vitality of the role played by teachers and families in managing the problem as a lifetime challenge that needs constant care and support.
This summit comes as a response to the pressing need of a further, deeper and more coherent management of a problem that’s wide-spreading amongst children, not only in the Kingdom but all around the world.
