Alfaisal University proudly hosted the Alfaisal Gaming and Innovation Conference (AGI) from April 30 – May 1, 2025, under the esteemed patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan, President of the Saudi Federation for eSports and the Arab Federation for eSports. This groundbreaking event brought together a distinguished lineup of local and international experts in technology, gaming, innovation, and eSports.
In a recorded message, Prince Faisal highlighted the conference’s vital role in setting the stage for the upcoming Alfaisal Gaming and Innovation Summit scheduled for January 2026. He acknowledged Alfaisal University’s commitment, alongside our partners, to support and develop the gaming and esports sector in the Kingdom, in alignment with Vision 2030 and the National Gaming Strategy.
His Highness noted the transformation of gaming from mere entertainment into a critical sector within the digital economy and a significant driver of innovation. He commended Alfaisal University’s initiatives that extend into education and healthcare.
Dr. Mohammed Anan, Dean of the College of Engineering and Advanced Computing, remarked that this conference is a landmark event for the university, being the first of its kind focused on gaming and innovation. He emphasized the university’s dedication to nurturing young talent, celebrating the graduation of our inaugural cohort from the game development and digital media track this year.
The conference featured an accompanying exhibition, as well as packed schedule of lectures, panel discussions, and enriching workshops that explored game development strategies, the role of artificial intelligence, smart cities, education, the metaverse, and talent investment.
We were also pleased to recognize the winners of the hackathon held during the conference, with special recognition to the best developer and best player. Additionally, the event celebrated the graduation of the first cohort from our game development track, developed in partnership with GenG. We also announced the winners of the Annual Engineering Design Expo and Boeing Competition, in the presence of the honorable Mr. Asaad Aljomoai, Preisdent of Boeing Saudi Arabia. The ceremony concluded with honoring our valuable sponsors and partners who contributed to making this initiative possible.
