23- 26 February 2025: The Global Game Jam made an electrifying return to Alfaisal University last weekend, welcoming creative minds from across the region to design and develop games based on this year’s theme, “Bubble.” This event, part of a global network of over 800 Jamming sites, brought together developers and creators for an intense three-day challenge to create games from scratch.
Alfaisal University proudly served as the only Jamming location in Riyadh and the largest host site in Saudi Arabia, with 122 jammers producing an impressive 33 games. On a global scale, Alfaisal ranked 39th out of 759 active sites worldwide, showcasing its growing influence in the gaming and technology landscape.
Organized by the Game Innovation Lab
The event was organized by the Game Innovation Lab at Alfaisal University, a hub that unites scholars, creators, and technologists to advance the fields of game design and innovation. The lab is directed by Hoda Alsayed and operates as part of Alfaisal University’s AI Research Center, led by Dr. Areej Al-Wabil, reflecting the university’s commitment to cutting-edge research and education.
