Alfaisal University proudly hosted the SpaceLead’25 Conference, held under the generous patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Turki Al Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies. This first-of-its-kind conference in the Kingdom marks a defining step toward advancing scientific dialogue, innovation, and leadership in space science and technology.
With the theme “The Future of Space Health and Advanced Engineering,” SpaceLead’25 reflects Alfaisal University’s commitment to research, innovation, and knowledge dissemination—values aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.
The opening ceremony featured Opening Remarks by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha bint Mishari Al Saud, Steering Committee Chair and Alfaisal University’s Vice President of External Relations & Advancement. Her Royal Highness welcomed participants from around the world and emphasized the importance of collaboration across academia, industry, and government to transform visionary ideas into tangible progress in the rapidly growing space sector.
“Space exploration today transcends boundaries,” the remarks highlighted. “It shapes our understanding of health, sustainability, and humanity’s future beyond Earth. Through this conference, we explore how engineering, biotechnology, AI, and space medicine can create safer, more resilient systems—both in orbit and on Earth. SpaceLead’25 also serves as a gateway for space industries, fostering innovation, commercial opportunities, and collaboration.”

The conference featured over 47 distinguished speakers and panelists from more than ten countries, covering topics ranging from human health in long-duration space missions to next-generation engineering systems, satellite innovations, and the ethical dimensions of space exploration.
A highlight of the event was the Hackathon Awards Ceremony, recognizing winning teams for their innovative solutions addressing real-world challenges in the space sector. The competition showcased the creativity and talent of the next generation of scientists and engineers.
The conference also included an interactive exhibition by key partners, including KFUPM, Boeing, SARsatX, Alfaisal Automotive Center, and the Gaming Innovation Lab, highlighting cutting-edge technologies, student-led projects, and immersive demonstrations. Boeing, Alfaisal University’s co-founding partner, and STC, the event’s digital enabler, played a pivotal role in supporting the event and enabling global collaboration.
The success of SpaceLead’25 underscores Alfaisal University’s leadership as a hub for scientific innovation and a platform for cross-sector collaboration. The conference advanced knowledge in space health and advanced engineering while reinforcing partnerships that will drive future innovation in the Kingdom and beyond.
