October 15, 2025: College of Business invited Dr. Adegoke Oke, Chair of the Supply Chain Management Department at Arizona State University and Dr. Brett Duarte, Clinical Associate Professor, to be part of CoB’s Executive Lecture Series.
The lecture titled “Supply Chain Management in the World of AI” was presented to the audience and College of Business students. It took place on Wednesday, 15/10/2025, in the Lecture Theatre (M) from 12:00 to 12:50 PM.
Dr. Brett commenced the lecture by emphasizing the critical role of supply chains in balancing customer expectations for affordability, quality, and variety with organizational needs for efficiency and reliability. He highlighted the increasing importance of agility and resilience in navigating global disruptions and technological shifts. Dr. Brett further discussed how analytics and AI are transforming supply chain operations, enabling better decision making and automation. He illustrated this with examples such as AI driven contract management and stressed the importance of integrating these technologies into academic programs through experiential learning with industry partners like Microsoft and Intel.
Dr. Oke expanded on Arizona State University’s broader vision and collaborations, particularly with Saudi institutions. He highlighted ASU’s scale, innovative ecosystem, and its strong commitment to inclusion, excellence, and community impact. He also outlined the Supply Chain Department’s ambition to become the world’s leading supply chain university, driven by its global faculty, industry partnerships, and cutting-edge research initiatives.
The session concluded with an engaging discussion on preparing future leaders for an AI enabled supply chain world.
