Riyadh, October 8, 2026 – Dr. Baraa Alghalyini, Vice Dean of the College of Medicine and Chair of Family and Community Medicine at Alfaisal University, was honored at the “Training of Trainers Forum” of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) as founder of the Training of Trainers “ToT on the Go” program.
Dr. Alghalyini and a group of colleagues launched “ToT on the Go” in 2016 as a half-day workshop on teaching and assessment for busy healthcare practitioners. She later added ToT Pro to prepare the facilitators who deliver the program across the Kingdom.
That workshop has since become a cornerstone of postgraduate medical training in Saudi Arabia. Every trainer in an SCFHS-accredited program must now hold ToT certification, and the program is a requirement for accrediting training centers. It has also grown to include specialty tracks such as surgery and simulation, so the clinicians shaping the Kingdom’s future physicians are trained to one national standard.
“I could not have imagined how far the idea would go,” said Dr. Alghalyini. “None of it happened alone, and I am grateful to my colleagues and to the SCFHS leadership, from those who embraced the idea at its inception to those carrying it forward today.”
Dr. Alghalyini’s recognition is a testament to her sustained dedication to advancing medical education and shaping national training standards, as well as Alfaisal University’s continued commitment to developing a skilled healthcare workforce in support of Saudi Vision 2030.
