College of Business invited Mr. Usamah Ahmed Jan to be part of the college’s Lecture Series. Mr. Usamah is Innovation & Capability Building Partner @ HUED Innovation & Design. He is also innovation management licensed practitioner (Green Belt) and accredited service design trainer.
The lecture titled “Innovation Management” was presented to the students of College of Business. The presentation took place on Wednesday, October 7th,2020 in the Lecture Theatre (F).
Mr. Usamah started the lecture by defining Innovation and the difference between creativity and innovation. Creativity is the ability to produce new and unique ideas while innovation is the action or process of implementing that creativity. He emphasized there is no innovation without creativity.
He then spoke in detail about the innovation process and innovation culture. He gave different examples of famous innovations and how they impacted people’s and their quality of life. He mentioned examples of Apple (smart phone), Email, and Flash memory.
The lecture is part of College of Business Executive Lecture Series to provide Alfaisal University students and guests from the business community the opportunity to learn from some of the country’s leading executives and leaders as they talk about their experiences. College of Business sponsors the weekly Executive Lecture Series to bridge the gap between the world of leadership and business education.
