On August 27, 2013, the College of Business (CoB) held its retreat (strategy meeting) for the academic year 2014-15. The meeting was attended by faculty and staff chaired by Dean Dr. Bajis M. Dodin. Dr. Faisal Al-Mubarak (Alfaisal University Chief Academic Officer and Provost) started the meeting by a welcoming and inspiring remarks. The agenda consisted of strategic and operational issues; it evolved around enhancing and the commitment to excellence and quality, and serving students and the community in Saudi Arabia.
The meeting was planned for five hours from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM with one hour break for prayer and lunch served on campus. In the first two hours, Dr. Bajis Dodin introduced and welcomed the new colleagues at the College of Business including Dr. Haitham Al-Zoubi (Associate Professor of Finance), Dr. Nicati Aydin (Associate Professor of Economics), Dr. Robert Zacca (Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship), Dr. Ahmed Alanazi (Assistant Professor of Finance) and Dr. Abdulmonim Alshaltoni (Assistant Professor of Marketing).
The meeting focussed on several issues related to teaching, scheduling, office assignment, research, faculty recruitments, committees, library, NCAAA accreditation; and on important strategic issues such as CoB Strategic plan and how it fits with Alfaisal University Revised Strategic Plan; AACSB accreditation; benchmark, revision, and extension of the MBA and Undergraduate Business programs; and merging with AU College of Business in Jeddah (currently known as Prince Sultan College of Tourism).
