Alanoud Alsubaihy, College of Business Project Management & Finance Major and a student of Dr. Sheraz Malik in the course BAN 310: Business Analytics and Visualization, participated as a leader for her team in Deloitte Girls Takeover 2021, winning first place.
The prestigious international hackathon is a collaborative effort between Deloitte, Johnson & Johnson and Intesa Sanpaolo. Participants are requested to come up with an innovative idea to help insurance companies reach young adults.
The team consisted of randomly selected international students: Martina Musetti, Beatrice Sforza, and Faryal Shaheen. Their winning idea addressed the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to help simplify choosing an insurance membership plan for young adults by designing a website using AI, it will identify what plans is better suited for users, in addition to having a digital database to include all required documents.
The user will plug in information about himself (e.g., age, occupation, and budget), the AI then will find the most suitable plan for him. The team wanted also to have a digital cloud-based database allowing users to upload documents and make it easier for young adults to have all documents needed in one place.
The Virtual event was conducted on the 11th of October 2021, the virtual design-thinking workshop included Girls from Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Malta, Greece, Middle East, and more.
