Students from Alfaisal College of Business recently attended the 24Fintech conference in Riyadh, an annual event aimed at showcasing the future of financial technology. Hosted by key financial institutions like the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) and the Financial Sector Development Programme (FSDP), the event highlights Saudi Arabia’s commitment to becoming a global fintech hub, giving students firsthand exposure to the latest developments in financial technology.
Reflecting on the experience, students found it both inspiring and educational. “We got a real sense of how technology is shaking up the financial world. It was fascinating to dive into areas like digital payments, blockchain, and AI-driven financial tools, and see how they’re making finance more accessible. One of the most memorable parts was learning how fintech is helping people who don’t have access to traditional banking, especially in underserved communities,” recounted Hessa Abdullah Alrubaiq.
The conference proved to be an eye-opening experience, where students participated in workshops, panel discussions, and roundtables with industry leaders and emerging innovators. They explored how fintech innovations have transformed the financial landscape and attended workshops on regulatory technology trends, as well as the impact of AI and blockchain on the future of finance.
Overall, the students left with a deeper understanding of fintech’s role in driving financial innovation in Saudi Arabia and globally. They expressed their gratitude to Dr. Adnan Abo Alhaija for making this enriching experience possible.
