Upon entering Phase 2 of his medical program Master Textbook Error Detector Hussam Mohammed Izzat Abou Al-Shar continues to find errors in commonly used medical texts. Errors were found in:
1) Guyton and Hall’s “Medical Physiology” on thyroid hormones synthesis and parathyroid hormone function;
2) “Robbins and Cotran’s Pathologic Basis of Disease” regarding innervation of the levator palbebrae superioris as well as the synthesis of thyroid hormone.
The current authors of these textbooks have thanked Hussam and will correct these errors in the next editions. Finding errors in textbooks is a result of wishing to understand a topic deeply. Clearly, the College of Medicine has been successful in kindling the “flame” in Hussam.
