On December 8, 2021, Prof. Yehia Massoud, Director, Innovative Technologies Laboratories (ITL), KAUST met with engineering students to share recruitment opportunities at the Innovative Technologies Laboratories in KAUST. Prof. Massoud talked about the current research projects that might interest students in electrical and software engineering as a summer internship or student researchers.
In addition, on December 9, 2021, Prof. Yehia Massoud presented the 3rd Boeing Engineering Students Competition keynote speech on “Smart Technologies for Smart Cities”. Prof. Massoud talked about the need to efficiently utilize the tremendous amount of available data to enhance the productivity and economic growth in manufacturing and in-service sectors such as healthcare and education. Also, that major transformation in work is being driven by combinations of machine learning, artificial intelligence, the internet of things, and robotics. These directions are in synch with Saudi Arabia’s 2030 vision in developing futuristic cities (NEOM), developing Saudi cities, and developing digital infrastructure, as examples.
