Alfaisal University successfully concluded the 4th Corporate Governance Conference 2025, held on December 17 and 18, under the theme “Good Governance for Productivity, People, and Planet.” The conference brought together academics, policymakers, and industry professionals for two days of structured dialogue and research exchange on the evolving role of corporate governance in supporting economic performance, social responsibility, and environmental sustainability.
The conference featured two parallel tracks — a main conference track and a research-focused academic track — offering a comprehensive program that addressed governance from strategic, institutional, and empirical perspectives. Across both days, sessions examined boardroom dynamics, governance reform, ESG integration, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, risk management, and sector-specific governance challenges, with a strong emphasis on regional relevance and global best practices.
A key highlight of the conference was the presentation of the Corporate Governance Excellence Awards, which recognized outstanding governance practices among Tadawul-listed companies across a wide range of sectors. The awards reflected the conference theme by acknowledging organizations that demonstrated governance frameworks supporting productivity and performance, people-centered leadership, and responsible environmental and social practices.
The awards were presented across four categories:
- Corporate Governance Excellence in Banking
- Corporate Governance Excellence in Insurance
- Corporate Governance Excellence for Other Companies
- Corporate Governance Enhancement
Awarded companies represented diverse sectors including transportation, industrials, healthcare, technology, and other key industries, highlighting the widespread adoption of governance best practices across the Saudi market.
The awards were informed by the Alfaisal Corporate Governance Center’s Annual Assessment of Tadawul-listed Companies, reinforcing an evidence-based and transparent approach to evaluating governance maturity and institutional development.
Throughout the conference, discussions emphasized the role of effective governance in enabling sustainable productivity, strengthening institutional accountability, and supporting long-term value creation in line with Saudi Vision 2030. The research-focused track provided a platform for regional and international scholars to present studies examining governance, ESG, digital transformation, and sustainability across different organizational and market contexts.
