Riyadh, October 5th, 2025: As part of its ongoing commitment to social responsibility and environmental sustainability, Alfaisal University, through its Social Responsibility Department, has launched the E-Waste Initiative in collaboration with the National Center for Waste Management (MWAN) and Ertiqa Association. This initiative focuses on responsible electronic waste management and the promotion of sustainable practices within the university community.
A permanent e-waste collection container was installed on campus to facilitate the safe and continuous recycling of electronic waste. While Alfaisal University has previously collaborated with Ertiqa on similar initiatives, this permanent installation represents a long-term commitment to creating a lasting, positive impact on both the environment and society.
The initiative aims to raise awareness about the health and environmental risks of electronic waste, while encouraging individuals and organizations to donate used electronic devices. Through the “Sustainable Impact” campaign, the university seeks to collect used and damaged electronic devices, recycle them responsibly, or refurbish them for safe reuse, enhancing community awareness and collective responsibility towards environmental preservation.
