Alfaisal University proudly celebrates College of Engineering student Bibi Khadija and her team, who secured 1st Place at the GOSI Hackathon for Innovation in Technology and Business, held from September 7–9, 2026, competing among 45 students across 14 teams.

The team developed EMTIDAD, a platform connecting retired professionals with SMEs and startups for mentorship, consulting, and knowledge transfer. Bibi represented the team during the final pitch, showcasing the solution before the judging panel.

The Innovation Hackathon (“Life After Retirement”) is a technical bootcamp empowering participants to build strategic solutions across four key tracks: Financial Stability, Health, Freelancing & Sharing Economy, and Quality of Life. The initiative focused on addressing real-world retiree challenges and enriching their post-retirement journeys. Its core objectives center on creating lasting social and economic value by leveraging retirees’ extensive expertise. Submissions are rigorously evaluated based on innovation, practical feasibility, long-term sustainability, and pitch clarity.

Under the leadership of Dr. Khaled Kattan, Vice President for Research and Innovation, and Ms. Noor Al-Saadoun, Director of the Innovation Center, Alfaisal continues to strengthen its innovation ecosystem and support students in transforming ideas into practical, high-impact solutions.

This achievement reflects the creativity and ambition of Alfaisal students and their growing contribution to Saudi Arabia’s innovation ecosystem.
