Alfaisal University is proud to announce that College of Business Associate Professor of Finance Dr. Izidin El Kalak, has been awarded the Best Paper Award at the AFS 2025 Conference held at the University of Valencia, Spain, from 17–19 July 2025.
The winning paper, titled “Propagation of ESG-Linked Compensation Through Boardroom Connections”, was co-authored with Oksana Pryshchepa (University of Liverpool), Cong Wang (Cardiff University), and Qingwei Wang (Cardiff University).
Dr. El Kalak’s work demonstrates how executive compensation linked to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals can spread across firms through interconnected boardroom networks, offering valuable insights for both academia and industry.
