Collage of Pharmacy students visited Glasgow, UK recently as part of Summer Program for International Research Internship and Training (SPIRIT) program. The course was hosted by the Centre for Forensic Science Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, Royal College, University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. A group of 15 students have travelled in the summer vacation and attended the forensic science comprehensive program to gain prospective and insights though series of presentation and laboratory sessions.
Topics included: forensic science, forensic chemistry, forensic toxicology, crime scene investigation and introduction to DNA analysis and DNA profile interpretation. This course offers a comprehensive program of instruction and guidance to develop practical forensic skills and general forensic awareness.
The immersion program is a unique educational experience which combines intensive classroom and practical sessions that will enlighten them regarding a possible future career.
