Alfaisal University’s College of Business alumni, Eyas Ahmed Gharawi and Hamad Saleh Alsheraim, have both earned the prestigious SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management – Certified Professional) certification. This renowned credential reflects their expertise in human resource management and strategic leadership. In light of this achievement, we spoke with the two alumni to learn more about their journey.
How do you see the SHRM-CP certification benefiting your career?
Eyas: I’m proud to share that I have earned my SHRM-CP, a globally recognized credential that highlights the importance of HR in driving organizational success. This certification reflects the exciting opportunities and meaningful impact an HRM career can offer.
Hamad: Being a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) is a significant achievement that reflects my commitment to excellence. This certification will open doors to leadership opportunities, enhance my credibility in the field, and empower me to contribute more strategically to business growth in the future.
How did you prepare for the exam?
Eyas: I express my deepest gratitude to Dr. Nourah Alfayez, Head of Management, for her invaluable mentorship and guidance. Her dedication and passion inspired me throughout my journey. Additionally, her dedicated preparation sessions played a crucial role in helping me prepare for the exam.
Hamad: To prepare for my SHRM-CP exam, I adopted a blended approach that combined individual and group learning while focusing on the key areas outlined by SHRM. The comprehensive HR knowledge I gained at Alfaisal University provided a strong foundation for tackling the complex topics covered in the exam. What message do you have for fellow students considering Human Resource Management?
Eyas: Students considering their future, I encourage them to explore HRM. It’s a field that combines strategy, innovation, and the chance to influence organizations and people.
As the students’ mentor, Dr. Nourah Alfayez, the Management Department chair and an Assistant Professor of Management at Alfaisal University, shared her perspective on the significance of their achievement. She explained that the SHRM-CP is a globally recognized credential that validates HR professionals’ expertise in both strategic and operational HR management. She emphasized that passing the SHRM certification on the first attempt is an impressive feat, especially for undergraduate students, given the exam’s challenging nature. The exam covers complex HR concepts, laws, and best practices that professionals often acquire after years of experience.
