Alfaisal University’s 7th Annual Engineering Design Expo and the Boeing Competition was held on Sunday, April 27th showcasing the exceptional talent and innovative spirit of engineering students. The event brought together over 300 students who presented a total of 121 projects across six main engineering disciplines: Architectural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Software, and Applied AI.
The Expo served as a platform for students to demonstrate their creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities. Projects were judged by a panel of experts based on their innovation, feasibility, and technical merit. The diverse range of projects reflected the students’ commitment to addressing real-world challenges using their skills and knowledge.
This year’s Boeing Student Competition winners were recognized in each track with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards. Some notable winning projects included:
Architectural Engineering: 1st Place awarded to Sarah Muthana, Nour Tawil, and Najla Alarifi for their “Melora Center” project.
Electrical Engineering: Munira AlDohaiyan, Leen Aburaida, and Maha Gabir secured 1st Place for “MedImagPrep: An Advanced Pipeline for Enhancing Radiotherapy Imaging.”
Industrial Engineering: 1st place was awarded to two projects, Joory Albusaili, Rand Althnayan, and Razan Alotaibi for “Optimizing Inventory Management at SAQUA,” as well as Sultan Alathel, Karim Qawasmi, Saud Bin Ghannam, and Abdullah Alowaidah for their “IoT-Based Driver Safety and Fleet Management System for Delivery Motorcycles” project.
Mechanical Engineering: Sarah Ahmed Darwish won 1st Place for “Micro-Nano Bubble Generation: Mechanisms, Design, Fabrication, and Testing of Generation Device.”
Software Engineering: 1st Place was awarded to two teams, Danah Alharthi, Norah Aleisaleisa, Haifa Alrabiah, and Nagham Naseb for “Tawasul- Saudi Sign Language VR Chathot,” and Aldanah Ghareeb, Ghala Alzahrani, Alyah Alromaizan, Lama Alnimer, and Lulwah Alhumaid for “ALFAVR.”
Master of Applied AI: Abdullah Adam secured 1st Place for “SmartSiteAI: An AI-Powered Framework for Restaurant Location Recommendation and Rating Simulation.”
Alfaisal University was honored to welcome distinguished representatives from Boeing, including Mr. Asaad Aljomoai, President of Boeing Saudi Arabia; Mr. Scott Drach, Vice President, Human Resources, Boeing Global; and Ms. Noor Alyafie, Regional Director of Human Resources, Middle East, Turkey, and Africa. The University also welcomed Mr. Bader Almadi, President of Google Cloud Saudi Arabia. Their presence reflects Alfaisal university’s core commitment to partnering with the best, emphasizing the role of collaboration between academia and industry in cultivating innovation and platforming the next generation of innovators and researchers.
The Awarding Ceremony took place during Day 2 of the AGI conference at Alfaisal University, celebrating the achievements of the winning teams and recognizing their dedication to excellence.
