September 9, 2026: The College of Business invited Mr. Abdulmejid Al-Hamza, General Manager, and Mr. Tabish Shoaib, the Global Head of Operations & Coin Listing at RAIN, to be part of CoB’s Executive Lecture Series. The session provided students with an overview of cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, crypto assets, investment strategies, and the evolving regulatory landscape in the GCC.

The session introduced the fundamentals of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, explaining how blockchain enables transparent and traceable transactions through a distributed ledger. The speakers highlighted key advantages of digital assets compared with traditional banking systems, including faster transactions, lower costs, and 24/7 availability. The presentation also covered major categories of crypto assets, including Bitcoin, altcoins, stablecoins, and meme coins, while discussing the growing adoption of crypto technologies by traditional financial institutions.

The speakers also discussed crypto asset investment strategies, emphasizing the importance of understanding market risks, conducting research, maintaining discipline, and adopting a balanced investment approach. An interactive Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA) game was used to demonstrate how consistent investment can perform over time under different market conditions. Students were presented with different Bitcoin price scenarios and were encouraged to consider how market volatility can influence long-term investment outcomes.

The session concluded with a discussion of the development of crypto asset regulations across the GCC and the increasing institutional adoption of digital assets. The speakers highlighted the importance of regulatory clarity and discussed the future of cryptocurrency regulation in Saudi Arabia. In response to questions from the audience, Mr. Abdulmejid Al-Hamza indicated that Saudi Arabia could potentially enter the regulated crypto industry within the next one to two years as global and regional regulatory developments continue
