Alfaisal University’s Robotics Club recently hosted a team from Booster Robotics for a live demonstration of the Booster T1 humanoid robot, offering students an opportunity to engage with emerging developments in humanoid robotics and embodied AI. The demonstration introduced students to the capabilities of the Booster T1, a humanoid platform developed with robot soccer applications in mind and designed in alignment with RoboCup standards. The robot is engineered for robustness, including resistance to falls, and supports secondary development, making it suitable for experimentation, research, and the development of new embodied AI applications.
During the session, students and faculty explored how humanoid robots can serve as platforms for advancing research in areas such as autonomous behavior, perception, locomotion, human-robot interaction, and intelligent decision making. The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss the broader role of humanoid robotics in the future of AI and the importance of accessible development platforms for researchers and student innovators. Booster Robotics is focused on providing stable and developer-friendly humanoid robots alongside supporting development tools, with the aim of accelerating innovation in embodied AI. Its work is also inspired by the long term RoboCup vision of advancing robotic capabilities toward human-level performance in complex, dynamic environments.
The event reflects Alfaisal University’s continued commitment to providing students with opportunities to engage directly with emerging technologies and industry innovators. Through initiatives such as this demonstration, the Robotics Club promotes experiential learning and encourages students to connect their academic knowledge with real-world developments in robotics, artificial intelligence, and embodied AI. The demonstration was hosted by the Alfaisal Robotics Club team, including the student club’s President Eng. Razan Abu Owaimer and Vice President Maria Abbas, with the support of the faculty advisor, Dr. Areej Al-Wabil. They represented the club throughout the visit and coordinated the engagement with the Booster Robotics team. Special thanks are extended to Mr. Fahmi Abu-Owaimer for coordinating the communication with Booster Robotics and facilitating the connection that made this visit possible, and to the Dean of Engineering and Advanced Computing, Dr. Muhammad Anan. The visit concluded with a tour of some of Alfaisal University’s research centers, followed by appreciation to the Booster Robotics team for visiting Alfaisal University and sharing their technology, expertise, and insights with our students and faculty members.
