Riyadh, May 17, 2026: In support of national investment in industry and technology, and to ensure the readiness of national talent to keep pace with the future of gaming and esports, HRH Prince Turki Al Faisal, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Alfaisal University, inaugurated the “SAVVY” Esports Academy in Riyadh.
The ceremony took place during the University’s Board of Trustees meeting, held on May 17th, and was attended by His Highness Prince Bandar bin Saud bin Khalid, President of the University and member of the Board of Trustees; HH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Esports Group; HE Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Alhayaza, President of Alfaisal University; and a number of members of the University’s Board of Trustees and founders.
The academy represents a new addition to the vibrant educational landscape in the Kingdom’s esports sector. It offers state-of-the-art facilities and equipment that simulate the work environments of international game development studios, supporting a seamless integration of academic and practical expertise.
The academy’s launch was a significant addition to the Kingdom’s dynamic esports education system. The academy aims to bridge the gap between education and the job market through dance programs and traditional experiences grounded in theoretical sciences. This includes contributing to the development of participants’ core skills, aligning with the Kingdom’s ambitions in the global gaming sector and supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The nine-month program, offered within a specialized company, provides participants with hands-on experience in game design and development from an industrial and professional perspective. It also offers collaborative and collaborative training opportunities, allowing students to gain practical work skills and access job opportunities in the gaming and esports industry, both locally and internationally.
