Alfaisal University’s College of Medicine was represented at the Canadian Cardiovascular Forum for Health and Disease, organized by the International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences (IACS) in Winnipeg, Canada, from July 21–23, 2026.
Representing the College of Medicine, Dr. Abrar Barakzai, Dr. Shawkat Ali, and Dr. Shahid Akhund attended the meeting and award ceremony.
The IACS is an international organization focused on advancing cardiovascular research, education, and knowledge exchange. The 2026 forum brought together researchers and specialists through scientific sessions, symposia, and poster presentations addressing developments in cardiovascular health and disease.
Alfaisal University’s connections to the IACS were also featured in the June 2026 issue of CV Network, the official bulletin of the International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences, with references to Alfaisal on pages 11, 13, 17, and 19.
The forum provided an opportunity for Alfaisal University faculty to engage with international researchers and specialists working in cardiovascular science.
