Wheater’s Functional Histology: A Text and Colour Atlas is a world-renown and distinguished atlas portraying the microstructure of human tissues since it was first in print in 1993. It is highly recommended by most medical students due to its colorful and well labeled diagrams, and concise explanations.
While studying for the Integrated Exam of the Musculoskeletal block, Miss Fatima Iqbal, currently a second year student in the College of medicine, found a subtle mistake in the labeling of collagen fibrils in fibroblasts (Fig 4.9). Thus, she’s the first female student in Alfaisal University to spot an error. This shows that Dr Muhammed Zafar, who has joined the faculty just recently, is already inspiring a thirst for knowledge and a need to know more about the fine points of the body’s tissues.
Dr. Barbara Young, the author of the book, has thanked Fatima and this error will be corrected in the next edition of the book.
