A Journey of Service and Compassion: Alfaisal Medical Students Conclude Hajj 1447 Mission

More than 60 medical students from Alfaisal University’s College of Medicine have successfully concluded their participation in the Hajj 1447 healthcare service initiative, returning safely after supporting pilgrims across Makkah, Mina, and Arafat in collaboration with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA).

Hajj is one of the most significant events in the Islamic world, bringing together volunteers, healthcare professionals, and service providers from all backgrounds, disciplines, and walks of life in a shared commitment to serving the Guests of Allah. As part of this national effort, Alfaisal students joined thousands of volunteers working to support the wellbeing and safety of millions of pilgrims during their spiritual journey.

Organized by the Center for Innovation Partnerships and Community Engagement (CIPC) in partnership with the Medical Student Association Emergency Medicine Interest Group (MSA-EMIG), and in collaboration with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA), the initiative provided students with a unique opportunity to contribute to healthcare services during one of the world’s largest annual gatherings.

Over 11 days, medical students worked alongside Saudi Red Crescent teams at key pilgrimage sites, including the Grand Mosque, Mina, and Arafat, supporting emergency response and healthcare operations while gaining invaluable experience in teamwork, leadership, communication, and mass-gathering medicine.

Alfaisal University is proud of its students for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to service. The University is especially pleased to welcome them back safely after what will remain a defining and lifelong experience in their personal and professional journeys.
