Dr. Abdulaziz Alhargan the Deputy Executive Director of the BADIR Incubation Program at KACST in Riyadh spoke at Alfaisal University on Wednesday 22 April 2009 about The Role of Incubator in Technology Commercialization. The seminar which was well attended by over 30 participants, particularly by students from the School of Business, addressed the challenges and opportunities of taking innovative research ideas and developing new products and businesses from them.
Dr Abdulaziz AlHargan has been involved in the early stages of the development of the technology incubation industry in Saudi Arabia through his role as the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) Implementation Project Manager for BADIR-ICT. BADIR-ICT is Saudi Arabia’s first ICT Technology Incubator.
Dr AlHargan has government and private sector experience. He worked in Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Agriculture established and headed their Geographical Information System Unit and as an IT researcher in KACST Computer and Electronics Institute. He has also worked as an IT consultant for the World Bank in Washington DC and for the Centennial Fund in Riyadh.
