Alfaisal University recently hosted researchers from the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology (IPHT) at our campus in Riyadh to further strengthen our long-standing partnership. The visit, following a research exchange in Jena, Germany last summer, focused on discussions, lab tours, and updates on joint projects. The IPHT team met PhD students under the joint supervision of Prof. Mohammed Zourob from Alfaisal University and Prof. Juergen Popp at the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology.
The collaboration is focused on advancing optical biosensors for infection diagnostics, therapy monitoring, and food safety. The binational PhD program exemplifies Alfaisal University’s dedication to offering students opportunities for global academic engagement and excellence in research. We take great pride in the enduring nine-year collaboration with the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology, a testament to our shared commitment to global innovation and scientific progress.
