Industrial Engineering Students at Alfaisal University are implementing an ergonomic project at Saudi Airlines. The objective of the project is to find the fitness between the airline passengers’ anthropometric measures and the airplane seating layout. The outcome of the project is expected to provide the airline with an efficient method to estimate the seating capacity of different airplanes and flight durations. Director General of King Khalid International Airport Engineer Yusuf bin Ibrahim Al-Abdan facilitated a visit for students and their advisor Dr. Abdalla Alrashdan to collect data from airplanes. Pilots and other officials supported the project idea and looking forward to seeing students’ recommendations.
