October 14, 2020 College of Business invited Mr. Abdulrahman Abdulaziz Al-Mashal to be part of the college’s Executive Lecture Series. Mr. Abdulrahman Abdulaziz Al-Mashal, Head of Strategy & Business Development at Riyad Capital. Mr. Abdulrahman has 11+ years of experience in the financial sector including CMA and Ernst & Young.
The lecture titled “Capital Market and Investment Products” was presented to the students of College of Business and the public at large. The presentation took place on Wednesday, October 14th, 2020 in the Lecture Theatre (F) and was aired through zoom where over 134 students attended.
Mr. Abdulrahman started the lecture with a famous investor example of Mr. Warren Buffett and his famous saying: “Never invest in business you cannot understand”. He gave an overview of the capital market history, background, and its Infrastructure. He then spoke about securities and available investment products in the market such as, stocks, bonds, etc. He gave a detailed overview of the public investment funds in Saudi Arabia.
Mr. Abdulrahman concluded the lecture with a competition to students. The competition awards will be given to 3 students. The awards include opening an investment account to each winner worth 5000 SR at Riyad Capital. More than 50 COB students joined the competition and the winners will be announced to all students this Wednesday in the Executive Lecture.
The lecture is part of College of Business Executive Lecture Series to provide the students and guests from the business community the opportunity to learn from some of the country’s leading executives and leaders as they talk about their experiences. College of Business sponsors the weekly Executive Lecture Series to bridge the gap between the world of leadership and business education. It is always held on Wednesday between 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM.
