On Wednesday, December 9th, 2020, the College of Engineering at Alfaisal University held its 1st Boeing Engineering Student Competition. The event showcased graduate and undergraduates’ projects under the health and safety theme during the Covide-19 pandemic.
In this Competition, 97 students, majoring in every engineering discipline offered by the College of Engineering, demonstrating 28 undergraduate projects and six graduate-level projects, some of which will hopefully go on to be commercial products.
Boeing Saudi Arabia thankfully sponsored the event. The Boeing Saudi Arabia representative, Eng. Anees Abdullah – Strategy & Business Operations Integration participated in the competition judging process.
The capstone project competition featured work from undergraduate students where the students presented their work to an audience made up of fellow students and professors and Boeing representative Eng. Anees Abdullah. The Competition had six tracks. Each track represented an engineering discipline or program, namely, Architectural Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering and Master of Engineering & Systems Management and grad research.
The President of Alfaisal University, Prof. Mohammed Alhayaza, HRH Dr. Maha bint Mishari Al Saud, Vice President of External Relations and Advancement at Alfaisal University, Eng. Anees Abdullah, Strategy & Business Operations Integration, Boeing, and the Acting Dean of Engineering at Alfaisal University, Dr. Muhammad Anan, attended the event on December 10th, 2020, and handed the awards the winning teams during the closing award ceremony.
The Acting Dean of Engineering at Alfaisal University, Dr. Muhammad Anan, expressed his deep appreciation and sincere gratitude to Boeing, faculties, students, the organizing team, the Facility, IT, and MC departments Alfaisal’s leadership for their unlimited support.
